Photographer Peter Marshall featured here last week with his shots of graffiti in Eighties London.
His Flickr site has a fabulous collection of albums, including one of Hull Black and White taken in the 1970s and 1980s.
For those keen to see the better side of Hull there are images aplenty of elegant streets, and fine civic buildings such as the Guildhall, but I've concentrated on the less salubrious parts of the city, with the docks and the decaying industrial heritage. It seems more, well, Hull, somehow.
