Ms Shrier's book is now at #96 in the US Amazon top 100, which is quite an achievement for a non-fiction book on a relatively niche subject. Incidentally JK Rowling has three titles in the top 100.

Grace Lavery, an associate professor at Berkeley, is unhinged about it. https://thepostmillennial.com/berkeley-professor-calls-for-book-burnings

Prof Lavery's own book, Quaint, Exquisite: Victorian Aesthetics and the Idea of Japan [an interesting topic, except perhaps when viewed through the prism or lens of queer theory] was yesterday ranked at #1,964,777 but overnight shot up to #844,378. They must have sold another copy.

It may be that emotions such as envy play a part in all this.

She seems more than a little unhinged, this Grace Lavery - "a self-described "thug prof," "octopus-f**ker," and "demon.""
