Wait, doesn't that "senior official" believe that killing her would have been the height of morality? Wouldn't it have demonstrated the glorious high standards of Pakistan and Islam?

I think of this as one of the most important stories of our time but do the stories of Asia Bibi and Malala have any lasting effect, especially in the country where they occurred? My hunch is no.

Apparently, the story of Emmett Till did have a big effect in the US north. But what about the US South? Pakistan seems to be a lot like The South under Jim Crow only worse.
