Israel hasn't been a threat to Iraq democracy since there has been democracy in Iraq, after Hussein was toppled. The Osirak bombing was only a threat to Iraq tyranny.

Yes, I was wondering what threat Israel was supposed to have been to Iraqi democracy 15 or 16 years ago, and assumed he was referring to the allied invasion in 2003. Which, of course, was the opposite of a threat to Iraqi democracy, deposing Saddam. But Israel wasn't involved in that anyway.

Or - thinking about it - he's probably just saying that in the 15 to 16 years since Iraq's been a democracy, Israel hasn't been a threat. It's just not very clearly expressed - or badly translated.
