What a brilliant artist Dale Chihuly is. Not in terms of his talent, which is outstanding, but for understanding that choosing to work in this medium would set him up for untold riches (who doesn't think sculpted, colored glass is cool-looking?). I can't count the number of museums, casinos, botanical gardens, and other venues I've visited, only to find some of his work--oftentimes quite a lot of it--on display. I wonder where he ranks, in terms of high-profile installations in popular public venues, among contemporary artists.

It's certainly not his first time at Kew.
