Education in Saudi Arabia:
An angry Saudi teacher ripped off a syllabus book which included pictures of girls and told his school boys to do the same.
A YouTube film published in Sabq Arabic language daily showed the teacher tearing pages which included pictures of the girls before asking his pupils to rip off the same pages and throw them in the bin.
“Hey ministry of education…here are your books,” the teacher said before starting to tear the pages.

I don't know whether you saw the film Wadjda a few days ago on Film 4, about a feisty little Saudi Arabian girl who wanted a bike. It was brilliant. Just watching that gave me so much insight into life behind closed doors in Saudi Arabia. How a female film director managed to make it in Saudia Arabia I can't imagine - I would have thought it was a public flogging offence just to make it, let alone watch it.

I'm surprised the girls are pictured without scarves. Not long ago, the religious police shoved some girls that age back into a burning building, because they weren't wearing their scarves.
