I checked Korean News, the official DPRK website, for information on the currency change (below). None, of course. Articles include "Chinese NPC Delegation Puts Wreath on Bust of Kim Jong Suk", "Kim Yong Nam Greets Central African President", "Method of Nursing Saplings in Paper-Bag Humus-Cakes" (a must-read), "Victory of Socialism Is Inevitable" (not such a must-read), U.S. Impudent Charade Blasted", "S. Korean Authorities' Fascist Suppression Flayed" and so on and so forth.....and then, this, an inspiring and heart-warming little tale from the days of the Great Leader: Deep Emotion of Girl Chairperson of Management Board. Yes, you're hooked already. Read on...
President Kim Il Sung gave field guidance to the Samjigang Co-op Farm in Jaeryong County in mid June Juche 65 (1976).Wonderful: a happy ending...but I'm sure you'll have noticed, as I did, that we're missing a word there: "looking at her lovely..."...what?
After asking the girl chairperson of the management board of the co-op farm when seeds were sown and what amount of humus soil was carpeted, the President let her elaborate her experience in properly nursing rice seedlings.
After listening to her, the President praised her work, looking at her lovely. And he instructed officials to let her participate in a Political Committee meeting.
The officials were surprised by his words because it was beyond imagination for a young girl chairperson to take part in the Political Committee meeting.
Her surprise was not inferior to that of the officials.
The President calculated the estimated production and discussed the distribution of various kinds of crops with her. Before getting in the car, he warmly shook hands with her and said: Let's meet at the Political Committee meeting again.
A few days later, she attended a meeting of the Political Committee of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held in Pyongyang.
It's clear what the problem is. The writer thought of word 'lovely' but knew that an adverb was needed. He/she decided that 'lovelily' wasn't right and thought that it would be best to stick with 'lovely'. Unfortunately, 'lovely' can't be an adverb and 'lovely' does not have an related adverb. He/she should probably have used the circumlocation 'in a lovely way'.
