"Multiculturalism" is bollocks. Suppose I argued that the West is unusual in its emphasis on the individual, and that (some) other cultures treat the family, rather than the individual, as the basic molecule of scoiety. "Yes" the multicultis would agree. Therefore, I could continue, when someone from that sort of culture commits a crime we must punish the whole family, not just the perpetrator. "Oh no" they would shriek. But why? Either you think that British civil rights extend to each individual or you don't. If you do, you are violating multiculturalism. And everyone violates it the whole time - it is not honoured by action, only by words. Of course, lots of things are bollocks but multiculturalism is particularly pernicious bollocks.
