If people were allowed to compete, muffled from head to foot, you'd get performances reminiscent of the old East Germany.


Reading this story about the Muslim girl that wears an Islamic hijab and won the 2006 Asian games gold medal in the 200m shows that the Islamic Hijab is no hinderance against women who want to be active in sports.
There exist some traditions that make it difficlut for woman to be active including Muslim woman, but this does not have any thing to do with Islam.
