Good grief. That place is still standing? I wandered round there with a medium format camera in 1990, and it looked as if collapse was imminent. (Nope, no decent pictures, though I'm pretty sure there was a naked man lurking in the corner of one of my negatives. My strongest memory of the place is the autumnal crunch of Durex wrappers underfoot.)
I don't remember it ever being that bad, despite the proximity to the West Heath. There's been considerable restoration work done over the past few years by the City of London Corporation, especially to the pergola walk.
