The other side of the tracks

On the east side of the River Lea the shiny new buildings of the 2012 Olympic site are rising up, dominated by the Olympic Stadium of Dreams. On the other side, directly opposite....well, it's looking a little more gritty:

 

 

Between events the powerful lenses of the world's press will likely turn away from the tense dramas unfolding on the track to take a breather, and catch a little local colour. And this is what they'll see. Welcome to London!
