Oh dear. The Guardian's Zoe Williams was glued to her TV, watching the rescue of the Chilean miners, and she felt a most unusual emotion: she felt....happy.
One's instinct is to distrust an emotional response like this....

They’re not heroes, they just got stuck.
They do the inspirational stuff so well, don't they, these people?
Don't suppose the elites who write in such papers would feel comfortable sharing such base emotions with the proletariat. What a bunch of losers.

Did anyone actually call them heroes?
Maybe I missed it but I read about some men who suffered a terrible ordeal and showed inspiring forbearance. Must be me.
