Iran's President Ahmadinejad believes that Paul the octopus - the cephalopod of World Cup prediction fame - is a symbol of decadence and decay, spreading western propaganda and superstition:
"Those who believe in this type of thing cannot be the leaders of the global nations that aspire, like Iran, to human perfection, basing themselves in the love of all sacred values," he said.
The suspicion grows that Ahmedinejad is, in fact, very very stupid.
Google currently gives about 102,000 results for an "ahmedinejad octopus" search. Serves him right.
Is Ahmedinejad, in fact, very very stupid?
The question can serve as the next commercial for Geicko:

Statements that allude to "human perfection" as something that might just be achievable set my totalitarian detector to high alert status.

Ignorant, yes; stupid, no.
He didn't get to the top of the pile by accident.
Same for Chavez.
Worst mistake we can make is underestimating their capacity for shit-disturbing.

Given the frequency in which cephalopods appear in anti-Semitic imagery, I'm surprised Mad-Dinnerjacket didn't make the obvious connection:
